It could be through a referral from an existing client, in which case you had better make sure you keep yourself top-of-mind with each of them. Or it could be a referral through one of your power partners, so you need to make sure to nurture those relationships as well. Perhaps a referral from an unlikely source such as a next door neighbor…you had better be sure your neighbor knows what you do. Or maybe you will be stuck in an elevator with someone, waiting for your car to be serviced alongside someone, seated next to someone on a train, meet someone at a networking event, meet someone through a group of friends at a bar on a Saturday night. The possibilities are endless, and that’s why you always have to be marketing yourself and your business. There are opportunities each and every day, and if you want to be successful, you need to position yourself to take advantage of those opportunities. If you don’t keep yourself top of mind, how can you expect others to? so get out there and promote yourself, after all, that next big client could be just a few feet away.
